The global pharmaceutical industry is undergoing significant changes, with leading players who once concentrated on synthetic drugs moving into biopharmaceuticals in search of growth. Dong-A made early investments to build up its biopharmaceutical research and technology platforms. Thanks to this foresight, most of the products now in the company's pipeline are biopharmaceuticals.

Dong-A has significant experience in animal cell culture, long-acting protein technology, gene therapy, monoclonal antibody therapeutics and biopharmaceutical screening. We are applying all of these competencies to push the greatest number of candidates to clinical development in overseas markets. To reinforce our research infrastructure, Dong-A is planning for the construction of a cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) plant in Korea.
